TWIN WALL FLUE INSTALLATION
We install twin wall flues into properties without a functioning chimney, which allows for the installation of a wood or multi fuel stove. The twin wall flue provides a safe outlet for the gases produced from the wood burners and multi fuel stoves.
A twin wall flue is a metal tube (flue) consisting of two layers of stainless steel with a layer of insulation between them. The layer of insulation helps the flue to function properly and efficiently by keeping the flue gases warmer, and also helps reduce the build up of condensates within the flue system.
CHIMNEY LINER INSTALLATION
A chimney liner is a metal tube that is inserted into the chimney allowing the fumes to flow up and out of the top of the chimney. They come in various sizes to suit any fuel burning appliance. We can supply and install any type of chimney liner.
With use over the years chimneys can develop leaks which can allow dangerous fumes to enter the living space which can be harmful to the house occupier. A faulty chimney can also cause issues with the appliance meaning it may not function as intended.
Here are some of the reasons why a chimney liner should be fitted or replaced:
- Current flue leaking smoke & fumes into other rooms.
- Condensates or tar seeping through the chimney (common with wood burning stoves).
- The flue is too large for the type of fire/appliance being used.
- Flue is too cold and not drawing properly (often against outside walls).
- Chimney built since 1965, clay liners installed incorrectly
- Old flue is eroded causing frictional resistance to the flow of gases causing poor up draught.
